Calling all seafood lovers in Dubai – Iftars that you don’t want to miss

Savor Seafood this Ramadan

As Ramadan dawns upon us, it’s important to understand the culture across the region.

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic (Hijri) calendar, is the holiest month for Muslims as it is believed the Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed during Ramadan. During this month, Muslims do not consume any food or drinks between fajr and maghrib prayers (at dawn and sunset).*

As you must have seen around the region, Iftar is enjoyed by both Muslims and Non-Muslim. Non-Muslims are either invited to a Muslim’s home for Iftar or visits a restaurant that offers Iftar meals. However what is Iftar?

Iftar (or Fatoor) (Arabic: إفطار‎ ʾifṭār 'break fast') is the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. Muslims break their fast at the time of the call to prayer for the evening prayer.* The fast itself is considered a purification of sins and a time to cleanse mind, body, and soul. It's usually not a ceremonial affair, although at many community gatherings this is often seen as an opportunity to spend with family and friends.*

As a way of bringing the community together, restaurants around the city set up Iftars that both Muslim and non-Muslim can enjoy. Here is list of a few seafood Iftars around Dubai:
